Bonds is a solo debut of Marlena Niestrój. Deprived of words, it connects theatrical and dance motives with the bondage aesthetics. The performance is the author’s personal reflection on everyday entanglements, where existential and social forces are involved, and individual experience, all of which control human life. The author takes the audience on a metaphorical initiation journey, during which different extremes (pleasure and suffering, freedom and enslavement, vitality and awareness of death) complement each other and, literally, intertwine.
