premiere: 4 December 2015, Centre for Culture, Lublin
performer: Anita Wach
direction: Bojan Jablanovec
One hundred plastic cups with champagne. One hundred paper plates with dessert. One hundred square napkins. One hundred toasts. And him: the Artist. A dead Artist. Metaphysical. Postphysical. On the other side, us: those who used to know him in person; those who know his works; those who have heard of him. We are all here to raise a toast to him. A toast as sugarcoated as the cake on the plates, and sizzling with delight like champagne.
The Polish version of the performance focuses on the outstanding director and visual artist Tadeusz Kantor. The Slovenian premiere was held on the anniversary of death of the great Romantic artist France Prešeren, and the toasts were made to Slovenian language as the foundation of national identity.
