An interdisciplinary project combining theatre, ballet choreography, text, video art and music. An installation built on tensions between two apparently incompatible forms of our absence from reality – sleep and death. The title refers to the phase of sleep which involves rapid eye movement (REM), dreaming, muscle atonia, and irregular heart and breathing rate. REM is a fragmented dream that tries to put itself back together.
